Logger lacrosse to celebrate seven seniors this weekend

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound lacrosse team celebrates its seven seniors this weekend when the Loggers host Northwest Conference opponents Pacific (April 2) and Willamette (April 3). Both games begin at 1 p.m.
 
Senior sendoff (kind of)
This weekend, the Loggers celebrate Beatrice Bridge, Hannah Bushing, Hayden Hotchkiss, Jenna Kisner, Lauren Mastin, Romi Miller, Isabele Riser, and their respective family and friends. The Loggers still have three more home games after this weekend (April 6, April 16, April 17). 
 
Winning ways
The Loggers have won five of their first six games in 2022, and they enter the weekend with four consecutive wins. Those victories are against Whitworth, Whitman, Augsburg, and Corban. 
 
Leading scorers
Four Loggers have reached double digits in scoring so far this season. Emily LaRiviere leads the way with 20 goals. She is followed by Milan Lam (13), Beatrice Bridge (11), and Abby Stranahan (11). Hayden Hotchkiss (9) and Hannah Bushing (8) are on the cusp of reaching double digits in scoring. 
 
Taking control
Beatrice Bridge leads the Loggers in draw controls with 27. She and Emily LaRiviere are tied for the team lead in ground balls (13). 
 
Keeping steady
Backed by goalkeeper Olivia Almy, the Loggers have allowed just eight total goals in their last two games. Puget Sound has held its opposition to fewer than 10 goals in three of its six games this season. 
 
Scouting Pacific (2-7, 0-5 NWC)
The Boxers enter the weekend with consecutive losses against Whittier and Willamette. Their last win was at Cal Lutheran, 12-7 (March 21). With 19 goals, Hyland Cullen-Musengo is Pacific's leading scorer. Vivian Mai has 11 goals this season. Pacific's GAA is 15.38, and its offense averages fewer than six goals per game. 
 
Scouting Willamette (7-3, 4-1 NWC)
When the Bearcats win, they win big. In four of its last six games, Willamette has wins over Pacific (15-1), Hamline (16-8),  Augsburg (21-0), and Linfield (18-8). Four Bearcats have 20+ goals this season: Maddie Garcia (26), Lily Baciochi (25), Laura Kelly (22), and Catie Kawamura (20). Tati Klenk has 19 goals. Goalkeeper Shelbt Sawyer holds an 8.90 GAA.
