Loggers set to host Lewis & Clark this weekend

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team has earned wins against each of its first two Northwest Conference opponents, and the Loggers host NWC foe Lewis & Clark this weekend, March 12-13. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 12 p.m., and Sunday's doubleheader starts at 11 a.m.
 
Needing hits
The Loggers won games against George Fox and Willamette this season. In each of those wins, Puget Sound collected double-digit hits. Those wins are the only two games that the Loggers have totaled 10+ hits this season.
 
Earning it
The Puget Sound pitching staff has allowed three or fewer earned runs in six games this season. Maddy Garcia has a team-best 4.14 ERA through her 22.0 innings in the circle.
 
Rice is cookin'
Lauren Rice has been tearing up NWC pitchers, putting up a .429 batting average in 14 conference at-bats. Overall, she is hitting .304 on the season and is 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts.
 
Hailee regarded
Hilee Ueyama is the Loggers' leading hitter with a .341 batting average. She has a steal, a home run, and three doubles to her name.
 
Scouting Lewis & Clark (3-3, 0-2 NWC)
The Pioneers' two conference losses came against Pacific Tuesday (rescheduled from Feb. 26). Lewis & Clark and Pacific have another doubleheader scheduled for Wednesday. Through six games in 2022, the Pioneers are hitting .270 and have seven stolen bases. Olivia Brackin accounts for three of those steals. Alyssa Abe has a 2.58 ERA through 19.0 innings.
