TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team travels south to take on No. 13 Linfield for four games, April 8-9. The weekend series was moved up to begin Friday in an effort to keep ahead of anticipated rainy weather.

The upset
The last time Puget Sound and Linfield went head-to-head was during the first weekend of April in 2021, when the Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the country. In the second game of that series, the Loggers put together a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh inning. The rally was highlighted by Hana DuGuzman's walk-off hit that gave Puget Sound a monumental 7-6 victory.

Scouting No. 13 Linfield (25-7, 17-3 NWC)
The Wildcats split a four-game series at Pacific Lutheran last week (April 2-3). Still, the Wildcats lead the conference in hitting (.331) and ERA (2.10). Kamryn Mobley has a team-high .410 batting average. She is tied with Brynn Nelson for the team lead in home runs (4). Tayah Kelley has a 16-3 record and a 1.20 ERA in 20 appearances (17 starts) in the circle.
