TACOMA, Washington – Luke Ahearn scored the game-winning goal in the first half, and Graham provided the insurance score as the Puget Sound men's soccer team began its 2022 season with a 2-0 win over Evergreen State in Baker Stadium Thursday evening.
 
In the 43^rd minute, Stuart Methner launched a long throw-in from near the corner. The ball sailed over several leaping players before landing on Ahearn's foot for a one-touch goal.
 
In the 81^st minute, Puget Sound earned a penalty kick and Hall delivered the score.
 
Ryan Saunders needed just three saves to earn the shutout.
 
Puget Sound is unbeaten in for consecutive season-opening games.
 
Puget Sound returns to Baker Stadium Saturday, Sept. 3, to host Colorado College at 12 p.m.
