TACOMA, Washington – Following consecutive weekends on the road, the Puget Sound men's soccer team is back in Tacoma to host Whitman and Whitworth this weekend in Baker Stadium (Sept. 24-25). Both games kickoff at 2:30 p.m.

The strong start
Puget Sound began the season unbeaten through its first six games of the season, all of which were non-conference. The Loggers nearly matched the start of the 2019 season – that Puget Sound team went unbeaten through the season's first seven games.

Eight Loggers have scored at least one goal so far this season.

Graham Hall are the only Loggers with multiple goals – two, apiece.

Keep on keeping on
Ryan Saunders has been in goal for every minute of the season thus far. He is the only Northwest Conference goalkeeper with a GAA under 1.00 (0.88). He is also the NWC leader in saves (40) and save-percentage (.851). Saunders was named the NWC Student-Athlete of the Week for defense Sept. 13.Â

Start of conference
The Loggers suffered their first loss of the season in the first NWC game of the season. Willamette beat the Loggers, 2-1, in Oregon (Sept. 17). Puget Sound earned a point in the NWC standings by tying Linfield, 1-1, the following day.

Scouting Whitman (4-3-1, 1-0-1 NWC)
The Blues began the NWC season with a scoreless tie against George Fox, and a 1-0 win over Pacific. Jacob Burrill is the team's leading scorer with three goals, and Edwin Romero has attempted a team-high 20 shots (two goals). Three different goalies have made multiple starts this season, and they combine for a 1.00 GAA.

Scouting Whitworth (3-2-2, 1-0-1 NWC)
Like the Blues, the Pirates tied George Fox (2-2), and beat Pacific by a goal (2-1). Beckett Arthur is the team's leading scorer with four goals, and four other Pirates have multiple goals this season. Arthur and Jamie Rodriguez are tied for the team-lead for assists (3). Three goalies have made at least one start for a combined GAA of 1.71.
