TACOMA, Washington – Junior defender
Ian Cameron scored his second-career goal, but the Puget Sound men's soccer team lost to Whitworth, 2-1, in Baker Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Pirates took a 1-0 lead in the 11
th minute, but Puget Sound responded in the 25
th minute.
Stuart Methner's big throw-in from the right side landed in the box, and Cameron was able to touch the ball just barely across the goal line.
The score remained tied at the half, but Whitworth scored the game-winner in the 53
rd minute.
Rayan Saunders made seven saves for Puget Sound, marking his fourth consecutive game with at least seven stops.
The Loggers are on the road next week at Pacific (Sept. 30) and George Fox (Oct. 2)
