Men's soccer returns to the road to battle Pacific, George Fox

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team will have three days in Oregon when it plays at Pacific (Sept. 30) and at George Fox (Oct. 2) this weekend. Friday night's game at Pacific starts at 7 p.m., and Sunday's game at George Fox starts at 2:30 p.m.
 
Saunders' significant saves
Ryan Saunders has at least seven saves in each of the last four games, including a season-high 10 against Willamette (Sept. 17). He leads the NWC in saves (54), shutouts (3), and save-percentage (.844).
 
Playing the field
Eleven different Loggers have scored this season, and there's still 10 games remaining in the regular season. Five different Loggers have scored game-winning goals. Stuart Methner leads the team in scoring (3) and assists (3).
 
Years in the making
Gabriel Faro-White scored his first goal since 2019 during the Loggers' 3-1 win over Whitman (Sept. 24). Faro-White headed in a cross into the box that was delivered by Graham Hall from the left side.

Both sides of the pitch
A couple of third-year Logger defenders scored goals against Whitman and Whitworth last Liam Elliott netted the game-winner against Whitman for his third-career goal. Ian Cameron scored his second-career goal against the Pirates.

Only a matter of time
Diego Alvaro has attempted a team-high 12 shots (six on goal), but he has yet to beat an opposing keeper. Still, given his tenacity and skill set, Alvaro is poised to become Puget Sound's 12th goal-scorer of the season.
 
Scouting Pacific (0-7-1, 0-4 NWC)
The winless Boxers began their NWC season with losses to Whitworth, Whitman, Willamette, and Linfield. Three of those four losses were by just one goal – Willamette beat Pacific by a 5-0 final. Jericho Lara leads the team in total points with one goal and one assist. Pacific is allowing 2.50 goals per game.
 
Scouting George Fox (1-5-2, 0-2-2 NWC)

The Bruins' most recent outing was a 7-0 loss at Willamette (Sept. 25). They will  host Pacific Lutheran (Sept. 30) before taking on Puget Sound. George Fox has managed just two goals in its last five games. Eugene Peltier leads the team in scoring with three goals, and Robert Rodarte has scored twice.
