TACOMA, Washington – With one upset victory under its belt already this season, the Puget Sound women's soccer team heads to California where it will take on UC Santa Cruz (Sept. 9) and No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer (Sept. 11). UC Santa Cruz is hosting both games.

Puget Sound beat No. 22 Emory, 1-0, in Baker stadium during the first weekend of the season (Sept. 5).
Genny Jilka Maskarinec scored the game-winning goal with a single touch off a free kick by
Tess Carden.
Chaylea Tome made seven saves, including a crucial stop on a penalty kick in the 83

Ava Cholakian netted three goals in the season-opening win over Piedmont, 5-0 (Sept. 3). She became the first Logger to record a hat trick since
Gabbie Berg '20 did it against Pacific during the 2018 season.

Career firsts
Kalina Cordero and
Zoe Fowler both scored their first-career goals against Piedmont. Cordero scored off a corner kick that was set up by
Tess Carden and
Sofia Benedetti, and Fowler's goal was assisted by
Layla Santos.

Tess Carden already has three assists this season, which matches her single-season career-high from 2021.
Layla Santos has assisted on two goals so far.
