Foote scores twice in dominate 3-1 win over Willamette

Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – Rhys Foote finds the back of the net twice in commanding 3-1 victory against the Willamette University Bearcats on Saturday afternoon at East Field.

Just seven minutes into the game, Foote netted the game-winner off a corner kick delivered by Graham Hall, who expertly sailed the ball over the goalie right to Foote, who used his head to take it to the back of the net.

In the 23rd minute, Foote struck again, this time after a throw in was headed by Liam Elliott to his feet as he immediately took charge and slotted the ball into the back right side of the net, doubling the lead.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Marko Babiak notched his seventh goal of the season, out maneuvering a Bearcats defender and sending the ball into the opposite side of the net from the left side of the penalty box.

A 40-minute delay was imposed during the second half due to intermittent lightning.

The Bearcats managed to break through in the last three minutes of play when Krisna LaFrance challenged the Logger's goalkeeper and found the back of the net. Ryan Saunders made seven saves, while Bearcats goalkeeper, Pierluca Carnovale recorded just four saves.

The Loggers will be back tomorrow, Oct. 22nd to face Lewis and Clark College at noon on East Field.
