Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – Megan Schellhase recorded her fourth clean sheet of the season for the Loggers in a 3-0 victory against the Lewis and Clark College Pioneers on Sunday afternoon.
Zoe Fowler scored twice to secure the dominant win for Puget Sound.
The first half remained scoreless, both teams appeared to be evenly matched as the Pioneers made seven shots and the Loggers attempted eight.
Minutes into the second half,
Emily O'Neil scored her first goal of the season, the game-winner, in an impressive play initiated by
Kya Scott and Fowler following a corner kick opportunity. Scott passed the ball to Fowler who returned it to Scott who then crossed it to the far side of the goal, where O'Neil headed it into the goal unopposed.
In the 79
th minute, Fowler scored the next goal, assisted by
Zoe Witter, doubling the lead. Ten minutes later, Fowler scored again off a quick dish from
Ava Cholakian. The ball barely slipped through the Pioneers' goalkeeper's fingers.
The Logger defense held Lewis and Clark to only one shot in the second half, while the Loggers notched 11 shots, three of which were to the back of the net.
The Loggers will play in their final home matches next weekend on October 28
th and 29
