Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound Loggers and the George Fox University Bruins played 90 minutes of scoreless soccer on Saturday afternoon.
Baker Stadium saw a tightly contested match with an even 10 shots each for the teams, the Bruins had seven on goal while the Loggers were held to just two shots on goal. The two teams had equal corner kick opportunities with six for the Loggers and five for the Bruins.
The first half saw more shots by the Loggers, but only one on goal which was saved by Bruins Goalkeeper Keoni Gavino.
Ryan Saunders made five saves in the second half to hold the Bruins off. Late shots by
Pema Globus and Ian Cameran were unable to break through the scoring.
The 0-0 draw marks the fifth shutout of the season, the Loggers now stand at 5-3-5 in the Northwest Conference just below Whitworth at 8-2-3.
The Loggers play in their last home match of the season tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in Baker Stadium against Pacific University.
