McMINNVILLE, Wash. – Ava Cholakian scored twice as the Puget Sound women's soccer team secured their fifth consecutive victory, dominating the Linfield University Wildcats 4-0 on Sunday afternoon in the final regular-season Northwest Conference match of the year.
Cholakian scored the game winning goal in the 13
th minute.
Leila Hausia-Haugen took the first shot that was blocked by the goalkeeper and Cholakian followed for the finish, taking the ball to the back of the net.
Sienna Kloss doubled the lead three minutes later when a corner kick was awarded to the Loggers, Kloss headed it into the far right corner of the net. The Loggers outshot the Wildcats 8-1 in the first half.
In the 64
th minute, the Loggers found the net once more, Cholakian delivered a pass to the outside where
Zoe Witter chipped the ball over the goalkeepers head and into the opposite corner of the net.
The final goal was made by Cholakian who received a pass from
Zoe Fowler inside the penalty box and took the ball deep into the net.
Megan Schellhase landed her seventh clean sheet of the season, making four saves in the dominant win. The Wildcats took all four shots on goal in the second half, while Emma Mulligan made five saves for Linfield.
The Loggers finished out their regular season 13-5-2 overall, and 11-3-2 in the NW Conference.
