Loggers surge past Douglas College in 99-46 victory

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound Men's Basketball team dominated with a 99-46 victory against the Douglas College Royals in Memorial Fieldhouse on Friday afternoon. The Loggers scored 54 points off the bench shooting 51.3 percent on the night to earn the 53-point win.

The Loggers were dialed in from the tip, forcing 16 turnovers on Douglas College in the first half and taking a 15-point lead going into the second half.

Defensively, the Loggers held the Royals to under 50 points thanks to a stingy first half defense that limited the Royals to 22 points on 8-of-24 shooting.

Freshman Drew Krillich posted a season-high 16 points going 6-of-7 shooting overall and a 2-of-3 effort from the 3-point line. Liam Ruttledge also dropped 16 adding five boards to the score, while Taj Phillips followed with 15 points going 6-of-9 and adding eight assists and four rebounds. Joel Kelly, Will Mathews and Hugo Rutherfurd all had five rebounds.

The Loggers have the New Year Holiday weekend off and will return on the road next weekend Jan. 5 and 6 to face Pacific University and Linfield University in Oregon.
