Loggers struggle early in loss at PLU

Box Score PARKLAND, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team dug itself an early hole when it lost at Pacific Lutheran, 78-53, Tuesday night.
 
It took Puget Sound a little more than eight minutes to score its first points of the game, and the Lutes held a 19-2 lead with 8:43 on the clock in the first half. The Loggers missed 10 shots from within five feet of the basket through the game's first 12 minutes.
 
The Lutes took a 37-24 lead into halftime, and they led by double digits for nearly 33 consecutive minutes.
 
Puget Sound's 30.7-percent shooting from the floor was its second-worst mark of the season.
 
Grant Erickson was the only Logger who scored in double figures, finishing the game with 11 points and nine boards.
 
The regular-season finale is at Lewis & Clark Saturday, Feb. 18, at 6 p.m.
