TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound baseball team returns to California this weekend for a doubleheader at Caltech (Feb. 11), followed by a single game at Redlands (Feb. 12).

Perfect start
With three wins at Whittier last week, followed by a win at Occidental (Feb. 3-5), Puget Sound is off to its first 4-0 start in more than 14 years.

The King shares a crown
Dylan Joyce hit four home runs during last week's California trip, and he tied Mark Rockey '10 for Puget Sound's all-time lead in home runs (29). He is also one RBI away from becoming the sixth Logger in history to reach 100 RBI. Michael Olsen '08 holds the program for career RBI (120).

Get out the rye bread and mustard

Two Loggers hit a grand slam during the season-opening weekend. Makana Murashige did it in the first game of the season at Whittier, and Dylan Joyce did it at Occidental.

Action out the 'pen
Puget Sound used eight pitchers in its 11-5 victory over Occidental – the fourth game in three days. Those Logger pitchers combined to allow only three earned runs on nine hits. Bennett Allen got credit for the win.

Makin' Murashige moves
Makana Murashige swiped three bags on three attempts last week. He led the Loggers in steals last year with 17 in 19 attempts.

Looking ahead
Puget Sound's home-opening weekend is also conference-opener when the Loggers host Whitman, Feb. 18-19, for three games.
