McCullar homers, but Loggers fall to Boxers

FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Jack McCullar hit his second home run of the season, but the Puget Sound baseball team lost at Pacific, 7-3, Sunday.

Puget Sound was in a 2-0 deficit after the first inning, but the Loggers took the lead in the fourth. Davis Franklin drew a leadoff walk, and McCullar – the next better – blasted a two-run shot to tie the game.

The Loggers kept the pressure on when Gabe Huante and Drew Kamihara both reached based on errors. A third error in the inning allowed Huante to score and give the Loggers a 3-2 lead.

However, the Boxers rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to claim the win.

Puget Sound has a make-up doubleheader at Lewis & Clark Wednesday, March 15. The Loggers return home to host Willamette, March 18-19.
