TACOMA, Washington – After climbing into third place in the Northwest Conference standings, the Puget Sound baseball team travels to Oregon for a NWC series at George Fox, March 25-26.

Conference landscape
The Loggers swept Willamette at home in three games (March 18-19), propelling Puget Sound from a 5-6 conference record to 8-6. The Loggers are in third place, behind Willamette (7-5), and Pacific (11-2). Lewis & Clark (6-5) is the only other NWC team over .500 in conference games.

Conference recognition
Brett Harvey was named the NWC Pitcher of the Week after he allowed just one earned run on six hits through 12 innings. Harvey threw a career-high eight innings and allowed just five hits during Puget Sound's 3-1 win over Willamette (March 18). Three days prior, Harvey came out of the bullpen to pitch four shutout innings in a 7-2 win at Lewis & Clark (March 15). Harvey did not walk a batter all week. In fact, Harvey has not issues a walk in 15 consecutive innings. He is 4-0 this season with a 3.69 ERA. Batters are hitting just .219 against Harvey.

Davis Franklin is 5-1 on the mound this season with a 3.29 ERA. His 43 strikeouts rank third in the NWC.

The joy in hitting
On March 5 at Logger Field,
Dylan Joyce became Puget Sound's all-time home run king. He is the first Logger to reach 30 home runs – and he currently has 34 for his career. Joyce also has 119 career RBI, which is 12 away from tying the program record held by Olin Wick '04. So far this season Joyce is batting .361 with nine homers and 32 RBI.

Do the Drew
Drew Kamihara enters the weekend with a 10-game hitting streak, and he has multiple hits in four consecutive games. The sophomore outfielder is hitting .432 with 10 runs scored during that streak.

Reliable as ever
Makana Murashige has started all 21 games this season, and he has at least one hit in all but two games. Murashige enters the weekend with a .378 batting average with three home runs and 10 steals.

We Huante more
Gabe Huante started the season 3-for-15 (.200) at the plate. Since the start of March, however, Huante is hitting .378 (13-for-37). He belted a home run during a midweek doubleheader at Lewis & Clark (March 15).

Scouting George Fox (8-14, 2-8 NWC)
The Bruins are in last place in the NWC. Their two conference wins are against Pacific Lutheran (14-7, March 18) and Linfield (12-5, Feb. 8). Jonathan Stone has a team-leading .357 batting average, and Jeremy Sangalang leads the way in steals with six. No Bruins has multiple home runs this season. The pitching staff carries a 5.62 ERA, and opponents are hitting .275 against the Bruins.
