Puget Sound makes its final trip to Oregon

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team makes its final trip to Oregon this weekend when the Loggers take on Pacific for four games (April 1-2).
 
Savvy swings
Savanna Smith hit her third home run of the season during Puget Sound's series at George Fox last week (March 26-27). She has three home runs this season, and 11 for her career.
 
Third-year star
Jessica Moore is having a breakout junior season for the Loggers. Two years ago, she showed by potential by hitting .275 through 22 games as a freshman. Through 22 games this year, Moore is hitting .358 with a team-high nine doubles.
 
Hot corner stays hot
Sophomore Emily Moore is batting .354 this season. The Tacoma native ranks second on the team in home runs (2), RBI (12), and slugging percentage (.538).
 
Hailee reliable
Hailee Ueyama is hitting .311 this season, and she has a .400 on-base percentage to go with six stolen bases. Through 104 career games with the Loggers, Ueyama has a .328 batting average.
 
Scouting Pacific (4-15, 2-9 NWC)
The Boxers enter this weekend with eight conference losses in their last nine NWC games. That stretch of games is against Willamette, Lewis & Clark, George Fox, and Whitworth. Pacific is hitting just .198 as a team, as no player has a batting average above .300. Samantha Pettit is hitting .269, but she has a .433 on-base percentage a team-high nine steals. The pitching staff has a 5.28 ERA.
