Men's basketball welcomes eight new Loggers to the program

TACOMA, Washington - From Oklahoma to California and Greater Tacoma, Puget Sound men's basketball head coach Aubrey Shelton is excited to welcome eight new student-athletes to the program. 


Ian Cook | 6-6 | Wing/Forward 
Los Angeles, Calif. / Saint John Boscoe / Impact Prep Las Vegas  
 
Coach Shelton:
Ian is a strong, physical, and versatile hooper who is as comfortable banging inside as he is creating on the perimeter.  In high school, he played for one of the top programs in the country, winning the SoCal CIF Section Div. 1 State Championship in 2021, and earning Second Team All-CIF honors. After high school, Ian attended Impact Prep in Las Vegas where he earned Second Team All Prep Elite Conference. Ian is ready to dominate academically as well, entering campus with multiple Honor Roll and Principal's List awards.

JC Humphrey | 6-4 | Guard 
Maple Valley, Wash. / Tahoma / Green River CC
 
Coach Shelton:
JC is a dynamic, strong, playmaking guard who will be looking to make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor for the Loggers. An All-SPSL standout and team MVP from Tahoma High School, JC played one season at Green River CC - helping lead them to a second-place conference finish in 2022. His size, athleticism, and team-first mentality will greatly contribute to our success this season. A motivated student, JC is interested in pursuing degrees in exercise science and business.

Joel Kelly| 6-5 | Forward 
Cle Elum, Wash. / Cle Elum - Roslyn
 
Coach Shelton:
A skilled and versatile inside presence Joel captained Cle Elum-Rosyln to a 20-5 record while stuffing the stat sheet each night averaging 17.4PPG, 14.3RPG, 4.7APG, and 3.2BPG.  For his efforts he earned EWAC Player of the Year honors and was a 1st team all league selection for the 3rd time..   A dynamic athlete, Joel also was captain and 1st team all conference for the baseball team, leading them to an outstanding season finishing 23-4.  A National Honor society 3.9 student, Joel has received recognition for his work in Calculus and English.

Drew Krilich | 6-4 | Guard 
Santa Rosa, Calif. / Cardinal Newman
 
Coach Quote:
Drew is coming home to Puget Sound after spending much of his youth growing up in Gig Harbor and attending Logger games!  A versatile and taller guard that can do it all, Drew led Cardinal Newman to an outstanding 27-4 record while earning First Team All-League honors, along with multiple All Tournament awards.  A 4.0 student and aspiring medical professional, Drew has earned a Seniors Honors Medal, Scholar-Athlete (5 times), Principle List, and Certificate of Honor for Society of Sport and Modern Band (he's a musician as well).

Zane Miller | 6-2 | Guard 
Agoura Hills, Calif. / Agoura
 
Coach Shelton:
Zane is a certified bucket-getter. A two-time Marmonte League champion and First Team All-League honoree, Zane has scored over 800 points in two years - including a 50 point playoff game. This past season he also earned two tournament MVPs. Logger fans will be thrilled by Zane's ability to score from anywhere on the court, both off the dribble and on the catch. A high achieving honor roll student as well, Zane will be bringing a relentless work ethic to campus.

Hugo Rutherfurd| 6-9 | Forward 
San Francisco, Calif. / San Francisco Waldorf School 
 
Coach Shelton:
Hugo is a long, athletic, hard-working big whose potential is sky high. A four-year starter and three-time captain, this past season he led San Francisco Waldorf to a 25-4 record and its first-ever Division 6 State Championship. Along the way, Hugo posted multiple triple-doubles, including one in the championship game. Hugo earned All-League honors three times, and he was selected league MVP this past season - along with being awarded SFIAC Athlete of the Year. Hugo's rare combination of size, athleticism, and motor should bring quite the  buzz to the Fieldhouse.

Tdohasan Sunray | 6-4 | Guard 
Arcadia, Okla. / Oklahoma Christian School
 
Coach Shelton:
Tdohasan's resume as a basketball player and a scholar is as impressive as they come. A dynamic leader and multiple-position threat, Tdohasan helped lead one of the best teams in Oklahoma to a 25-4 record and the state quarterfinals, earning All-City and All-District honors. A talented writer Tdohasan, has been a National Student Poets Program Semi-Finalist, a National Honor Society member, Oklahoma Christian School Shalom Award winner, and a three-time Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute Selectee. At Puget Sound, Tdohasan is arriving as one of two Matelich Scholars in his class, a prestigious program that honors some of the very brightest and promising students on this campus.

Cameron Wood | 6-6 | Wing
San Diego , Calif. / Rancho Bernardo
 
Coach Shelton:
Cameron is a tall, versatile guard/forward, who can shoot the lights out and rebounds at a very high level. A two-time San Diego All-Star Creme of the County selection, and two-time Palomar All-League selection, Cameron nearly averaged a double-double this past season. His versatility on both ends will greatly help the Loggers.  An outstanding student as well, Cameron was a four-time Dean's List honoree at Rancho Bernardo.
