Loggers score quick, stifle Willamette

Box Score SALEM, Ore. – Puget Sound scored two early goals against Willamette University on Saturday to remain undefeated in Northwest Conference action.

The offensive attack started quickly with Zoe Fowler scoring her first goal of the season in the opening five minutes of the game off an assist from senior Ava Cholakian. With the Loggers up 1-0, midfielder Kya Scott was able to find the back of the net from beyond 20 yards, less than 10 minutes later. Scott now has five goals for the season, along with two assists.  

In the second half, the Logger defense locked it down with a clean performance from the backline for the 2-0 shutout. On the day, Puget Sound finished with 14 shots while holding Willamette to seven of its own shots.

The regionally ranked Loggers move to 3-0 in the Northwest Conference and 4-2-0 overall, they will face Lewis & Clark on Sunday in Portland, Oregon.
