Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Loggers completed a three-set sweep of the Blues on Saturday with the scores of 25-17-, 25-12, and 25-21 to finish its Eastern Washington swing.
Puget Sound started the night with a .483 attack in the first set, fueled by 16 kills. Midway through the set, the Loggers notched eight consecutive points to jump to a commanding 21-12 lead from which Whitman couldn't recover, and Puget Sound closing out the first set.
Dominating scoring runs was again the story in the second set with Puget Sound recording two separate seven point runs.
Akira Anderson played a pivotal role, accounting for nearly all the points in one of the runs, with four service aces.
In the final set of the night, Whitman was able to keep pace with the Loggers, coming within one point of tying Puget Sound at 21-20, before
Mackenzie Leith secured the win with two crucial kills.
Lauren Ly led the team on the night with six kills on an impressive .750 attack rate.
With this victory, Puget Sound moves to 4-2 in Northwest Conference play and 11-3 overall.
