FOREST GROVE, Oregon (October 5, 2024) - Women's volleyball (8-5, 5-1 NWC) returns home from their weekend in Oregon with two more conference wins. The Loggers topped the Pacific University Boxers tonight in three sets. Star standouts include Makela Pick who led the team with 11 kills, Makenzie Leith who was close behind with 10, and Maddie Badger who had six kills and five blocks. Lauren Ly stepped onto the court and served four aces, a season high, to boost the Loggers as well.
Puget Sound went down 19-23 but rallied behind Pick who served out the last points for them to take the first set 25-23. Their momentum continued into the second set where they maintained their lead winning 25-15. The Boxers tried to recover but the Loggers held on for a 25-22 victory and a sweep.
This win places the Loggers securely in third place in the conference as they get ready to take on Whitman and Whitworth back at home this weekend. Games are set for 7pm on Fri Oct11 and 6pm on Sat Oct 12.
