PUYALLUP, Washington (November 16, 2024) -
Hayden Teeter stepped up to fill some pretty large shoes, and he wore those shoes with pride and poise. Of course, he didn't do it alone - aided by
Joe Gallagher - who today passed the career receptions record among all Puget Sound receivers - and his tough offensive line. Teeter, filling in for an injured
Mason Binning since the second half of last week's game against the Lewis & Clark Pioneers, finished the game with 285 yards across 23 completions and one touchdown.
The touchdown pass from Teeter came early in the game, as the Loggers were backed up on their own 2-yard line after a change of possession. Gallagher caught up the defensive back on the right side in a hand fight at the line of scrimmage, breaking free down the sideline as Teeter dropped the ball to him in stride, allowing Gallagher to cruise past the PLU defense and into the end zone. At one point, the Loggers were down 7-21 but made up ground to enter halftime tied, 21-21.
The Logger defense had their best day of the season, where
Matagi Lilo led the Loggers with six total tackles and two assists, and
Amarian Culpepper led the team in total tackles. Max Arneclev,
Bryce Waxham, Tamaauleli Maalona,
Sullivan Triplett, and
Hayden McPherson all were instrumental in keeping Puget Sound in the game, with each of them contributing to tackles for loss.
The Loggers end the season 2-8 (1-6 NWC) after much adversity and mid-season adjustments. Head Coach Jeff Thomas has consistently praised the team's efforts, continuous improvement, and ability to adapt to change.
The 2025 schedule has not yet been released but can be expected this Spring.
