TACOMA, Washington (November 2, 2024) - Seniors Mackenzie Leith, Sarah Johnsen, Mia Halcomb, and Rachel Ryan rang in Lady Logger senior night with a 3-1 victory over the George Fox Bruins this evening. The Logger Yard pulled out all of the stops for our beloved seniors, from signs to gifts to cheers, for a well deserved Senior Night celebration.
The team built upon and showcased some newfound fluidity on the court tonight, a major asset as the Loggers approach NWC playoff season. Mackenzie Leith stole the show this evening in Memorial Field House, with a total of 20 kills, often fed by Randi Rush who finished the match with a whopping 40 assists.
The Loggers began the match hot, keeping constant pressure on the Bruins throughout sets one and two to clinch victory. Set 3 was awarded to the Bruins, however, that did not falter the grit of our Loggers, as they came back with even more heat in set four (25-9) to seal the deal for the win.
The Loggers deserve some hard earned rest this week after a ragingly successful weekend, and they will need it as they hit the road next weekend traveling east to face off against the No. 1 ranked Whitworth Pirates in Spokane, Washington.
