Six Loggers Earn NWC Honors

TACOMA, Washington (November 21, 2024) - The Logger Men's Soccer team has six student-athletes who have received NWC honors for their efforts on the field this season.

Below, Head Coach Steve Mohn shines a light on each of their individual successes and accomplishments.

Liam Elliott, First Team: Liam brought a lot of experience and composure to our back line this year. He was a constant in our defensive success. Liam started every game and played every minute this year which puts him as the all time leader in games played at with 86 and career minutes played at 7,423.

Ryan Saunders, Second Team: Ryan was instrumental to our success this year and was in the top two in four of the five statistical categories for goalkeepers. He helped lead our team to the second best goals against average in the conference at 1.067. He made 71 saves with a save percentage of 0.816 and had five shutouts. He was an incredible leader on and off the field for us and did much more than the stats you see on paper.

Rhys Foote, Second Team: Rhys really found his footing in our system about halfway through the season. He was exceptional in attacking areas for us and is always looking to score goals. He scored seven goals (five in the last five games) and had two assists and was 6th in the conference in points with 16. The passion and competitiveness he brings day in and day out is infectious.

Pema Globus, Honorable Mention: Pema had a fantastic season from several different positions this year. His willingness to be so versatile showed how much he put the team before himself. His ability to hit a dead ball and be so effective on set plays this year was massive to our success. Pema scored four goals and had seven assists (5th in the conference) this year and was tied for 6th in points with 15.

Kody Carmel, Honorable Mention: Kody added a lot of defensive composure and cover for our defense this year.  Kody played all but 20 minutes in the 14 conference games this year. His one on one defending, strength, and his ability to read the game was a big reason we had such a strong defensive record this year.

Jackson Smith, Honorable Mention: Jackson provided us with a lot of speed and athleticism on the front line this year. He scored four goals (two game winning goals) and added four assists in his first season. His ability to strike a ball with both feet, pace, and willingness to stretch other teams defenses were vital to our offensive success this year.
