TACOMA, Washington (30 November 2024) - Logger Women's Basketball was unable to finish strong against the Hardin-Simmons Cowgirls, giving up 26 turnovers, most of them late in the game.
Freshman
Mele Sake led the Loggers in scoring, with ten points.
Carmen Cruz scored eight, fresh off of a record nine three-point buckets in her 36-point performance last Wednesday against Northwest University.
Puget Sound's turnover rate and Hardin-Simmons' ability to capitalize on the turnovers allowed them to streak ahead of the Loggers in the 4th quarter, scoring nine fast break points as opposed to Puget Sound's two. The total scored points from turnovers for Hardin-Simmons was 26, compared to the Logger's 10, which further explains the growing gap in scoring as the game progressed.Â
The Loggers don't play again until December 21st, against Centre College in the Hoops in Hawaii Classic.
