Portland, Oreg. – Freshman
Krishna Agrawal triumphed in singles match as
the Puget Sound women's tennis team fell short against Lewis and Clark College, 8-1 on Sunday, at the Lewis and Clark Tennis Dome.
In doubles, freshman
Kaylee Yamada and Agrawal came close to victory but ultimately lost, 8-5. Following them, sophomore
Zoe Richter and senior
Marissa Perez also fell short in doubles, losing, 8-4.
Transitioning to singles play, in singles #1 and #2, Yamada and Perez struggled to overcome their opponents.
Following in singles #3, Agrawal secured a victory over her opponent, Emma Loucks, with scores of 6-3 and 10-8.
Then in singles #4,
Laura Schneidman had a tough battle and came up short, 7-6 and 6-1.
In singles #5, Richter narrowly missed out on victory in the first set, losing 6-5, and subsequently lost the second set, 6-1.
In the final singles #6, freshman
Ella Parker fought hard to overcome her opponent, Charlotte McKoni, but fell short, losing 6-3 and 6-1.
The Puget Sound women's tennis will have their final Northwest Conference match-up on the road Saturday, April 13, against Whitman College, at 11 a.m.
