Loggers drop third game against Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. – In their final regular season match against their across-town rivals, the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, the Loggers finished in an 8-3 loss on Saturday at PLU Field.

The game kicked off with a quiet first inning for the Loggers, with no runs, hits, or errors. However, the Lutes quickly took control in the bottom of the inning, with a triple to centerfield to secure a 1-0 lead.

Despite efforts to rally in subsequent innings, the Loggers couldn't match the Lutes' offensive prowess. By the fourth inning, the Lutes had extended their lead to 7-0, with the Lutes Jaden Pieper delivering a critical double that brought home three runs.

The Loggers managed to put up a fight in the later innings, with Cooper Allen and Drew Kamihara contributing hits to narrow the gap. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Lutes' lead.

As the game entered the final inning, the Loggers found themselves trailing 8-3. Despite some late-game efforts, including a walk by Jim O'Brien and a hit by Davis Franklin, they couldn't mount a comeback.

Ultimately, the Pacific Lutheran Lutes emerged victorious with a final score of 8-3 and the Loggers move to 10-14 in Northwest Conference play and 18-22 overall.
