WHITTIER, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2024) - Puget Sound Volleyball won their first match yesterday and conceded in the second, using the loss as an opportunity to bounce back and strike even harder today in the second day of matches this weekend.
Logger Volleyball faced Chapman University at Whittier yesterday morning, winning 3-1 in four sets (25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19). After two sets, the Loggers and Panthers were even, but the Loggers quickly and dominately pulled away with the win.
Then, at 1:00pm, the Loggers took on Whittier University, ultimately losing 1-3 in four sets (21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 23-25), albeit two of the lost sets were decided by just two points. Loggers Mackenzie Leith and Maddie Badger both finished the game with 11 kills each, and Randi Rush closed out the game with 19 assists. Samantha Keightley led the Loggers with 19 digs.
Today, the Loggers will first face the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens at 10:30am in Claremont, and then at 3:00pm will battle the La Verne Leopards in La Verne.
