Loggers Take Down Boxers 3-0 in Oregon

FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- The Loggers cap their final conference road trip with a 3-0 over Pacific.

How it Happened
Nearly every player on the Puget Sound roster played tonight, as the Loggers showed their depth in a sweep of Pacific. The first set started off with a 4-1 run, as a Samantha Keightley service ace got the log rolling. The Boxers tied it up at four apiece, but a whopping 13-1 run silenced the Boxers. Erin Fagan secured back-to-back aces, Gianna Friendy also had three aces, and Mackenzie Lieth had three kills all during that span.

The Boxers made the rest of the set competitive, but by that point, the Loggers were up by 12. A pair of kills by Fagan capped off the set, giving the Loggers a 25-14 first-set win.

The second set was closer, as the Boxers started with a lead. Kills by Fagan, Leith, Maddie Badger, and Skya Favor pulled the Loggers back to all-square, but the Boxers hung around. It took a Maddie Badger masterclass to silence Pacific, as she had three kills en route to a 6-0 Logger run. The rest of the set was back and forth, as Akira Anderson offered two aces of her own. The Loggers took set two, 25-19.

In set three, the Loggers continued to apply pressure, starting with a 5-1 run. Badger and Fagan collected a pair of kills each, as the team jumped out to a 9-5 lead. Pacific got right back into the match with five points in a row, but a 9-2 run gave the Loggers back the lead. Leith and Fagan did the heavy lifting, both recording a trio of kills to put the Loggers up 18-12. A Pacific run made it 21-19, but the Loggers closed the set out with four of the final five points going their way.

Top Performers
Badger continues to play well this season, picking up 14 kills on yet another efficient night, hitting .480 on the evening. Leith and Fagan both had 12 kills, and Randi Rish finished with 28 assists and seven digs.
