TACOMA, Wash. -- Six Loggers earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team this year, showing out both on the field and in the classroom.
The CSC recognizes Scholar-Athletes who are sophomore standing or higher who carry a 3.5 GPA, and also play in 90% of games throughout the year. Six members of the Men's Soccer team made the prestigious list, showing their versatility across the board.
Business administration major,
Shea Ansell, played in 19 games, starting six of them, and played a major part of the Loggers' midfield this year. He registered one shot and played a season-high 81 minutes at Whitworth on October 11th.
Economics major,
Connor Barnes, played and started all 19 games for the Loggers, scoring his first goal and recording his first assist with the team. He was a lock on the back line, playing all 90 minutes for the duration of Northwest Conference play.
Pre-med major,
Kody Carmel, finished on the All-NWC third team, playing and starting in all 19 games for the Loggers. He recorded 2 assists, helping anchor the back line with Barnes.
Chemistry major,
Luke Mamiya, made his first appearance on the CSC Academic All-District team, playing in 18 games while starting 12. He was the only goalie to shut out NWC winner Whitman, who averaged over 2 goals a game.
Pre-med major,
Owen Pschigoda, played in 18 games, starting 4, and scored twice for the Loggers. This is his first nod to the Academic All-District team.
Psychology major,
Sebastian Telles, played in 18 games, starting 15, and recorded 2 goals and an assist for the Loggers. Telles was a consistent player in the midfield, as he picked up his first Academic All-District Award.
The Loggers finished their season 7-7-5, finishing in fifth place in the NWC.
