Puget Sound cruises by Pioneers

TACOMA, Washington (February 14, 2025) – The Loggers (10-13, 9-5 NWC) flew past the Lewis & Clark Pioneers 77- 49 while celebrating Valentine's Day and Pink Night. UPS led the entire game, taking the lead off of an Addison Reardon three in the first quarter and never relinquishing through the next 40 minutes to take their fourth consecutive Northwest Conference victory.

Reardon would end up finishing the night leading her team with 15 points. Claire Thompson followed close behind with 14. The Loggers as a team showcased their prowess behind the arc, shooting 10 of 21 from beyond the 3 point line. All 15 of Addison Reardon's points came from distance as she finished 5-6 from range.

It was also a stellar defensive night for UPS, as the Loggers lodged four blocks and 13 steals against the Pioneers. Paige Oh led the team in steals with three, which would set her season high. While Savannah Pohl managed to grab a team leading 10 rebounds. The Loggers would limit Lewis & Clark to 23 points in the first half and shut them down even better going into the second, as they managed a season low in points allowed, letting up only 44 points on the night.

In an all around dominant performance from the women's team, the Pioneers would only manage to shoot better than 30% from the field in the 2nd quarter. Carmen Cruz was the third of three Loggers to put up a double digit scoring performance, as the starter managed 12 points on the evening.

The Loggers have a chance to secure the second seed in the Northwest Conference next weekend when they take on Willamette and George Fox at Memorial Fieldhouse.
