Miller Leads Loggers To Victory Over Wildcats

MCMINNVILLE, Oregon (February 7, 2025) – Puget Sound (10-10, 5-6 NWC) earned another conference win with a 71-56 victory over Linfield University (7-13, 4-7 NWC) on Friday night.

The Loggers took control early, going up 1-3, highlighted by two three-pointers from Zane Miller. The run set the tone for the rest of the game, as Puget Sound never trailed. With 10 minutes left in the first half, the Loggers extended their lead to 16 points. They finished the half with a comfortable 38-25 advantage.

In the second half, the Loggers continued to dominate, adding 33 more points and pushing their lead to 24– their largest of the game. The team's defense stifled Linfield, limiting the Wildcats to just 14% shooting from the arc. While Linfield grabbed more rebounds, they couldn't overcome the Loggers' scoring.

With 33 minutes of action, Miller led with a career-high 24 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Will Pohland added 15 points, Taj Phillips contributed 11 points with seven assists, and Beckett Turner put up 10 and grabbed 7 rebounds.

The Loggers return to play Saturday afternoon against Pacific University at 4 p.m.
