The University of Puget Sound women's basketball team, led by head coach
Casey Kushiyama, finished the season third in the Northwest Conference (NWC). The Loggers made the NWC playoffs for the sixth consecutive season before falling to George Fox.
The Loggers challenged themselves with one of the toughest preseason schedules in the nation. Eight of their nine preseason opponents were either nationally ranked in the Top 25, conference champions, or played in the NCAA Tournament, including schools from Virginia, Wisconsin, Texas, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, and California. This strong national schedule prepared the team for the competitive NWC season.
Several athletes delivered standout performances this year. Guard Addie Reardon '25 earned Honorable Mention from the NWC, solidifying her place among the best shooters in the conference and program history by finishing the season shooting over 40% from three-point range.
Carmen Cruz '28 emerged as a future star in the league. The guard led the team in scoring as a first-year player and broke the school record with nine three-pointers made in a single game against Northwest University. Guard

Paige Oh '27,

With 11 players returning, the Loggers hope to make a push for the Northwest Conference Championship. The team also welcomes two talented incoming players: Hailey Quiggle, a 5-foot-9 guard from Woodinville High School, whose team finished third in State 4A and who earned First Team All-Kingco and WSGBCA 4A State Player of the Year honors, along with a State Tournament Second Team selection. Also joining the team is Grace Lee, a 5-foot-9 guard from North Thurston High School, whose team was South Puget Sound League Champs and finished third in State 3A. Lee earned Second Team All-State and was a two-time First Team All-SPSL selection.
Beyond their achievements on the court, the team finished the spring semester with an impressive 3.6 GPA, marking their 10th consecutive semester above a 3.5. The Loggers also traveled to Honolulu, Hawai`i, for a preseason tournament before Winter Break. While the basketball was good, the cultural experiences were a highlight, specifically the lu`au at Hula Garden at Kahalu'u Pond.
