Loggers Finish Texas Road Trip With 1-1 Tie Against Mary Hardin Baylor

BELTON, Texas -- The Loggers stay undefeated on the season after their Texas road trip, earning a draw against Mary Hardin Baylor (MHB) Sunday morning.

How it Happened
The game got off to a slow start, with each team trading possessions, making good tackles, and taking a couple of shots each. Logger goalkeeper Gianna Maldonado made a couple of key saves in the eighth and 24th minutes, keeping the Crusaders off the score sheet early. The Logger's best chance of the first half came in the 28th minute, as Mazy Wright put a shot on target. The Crusader's keeper made a great save, keeping the score at 0-0.

Maldonado made another couple of good saves towards the end of the first half, but MHB broke the ice in the 42nd minute. The Loggers went into halftime down 0-1, but kept their spirits high as they headed into the locker room.

The second half got off to a slow start again, as the Loggers only recorded one shot in the first 20 minutes. Two key substitutions changed things around in the 66th minute, though, as Avery Willis and Olivia Alegria came into the match. Just over a minute later, the Loggers tied the game up, as Zoe Witter notched her first goal of the season. Maldonado was the hero of the match for the Loggers, picking up another couple of key saves to keep the Crusaders out of the back of the net. A final shot by Hayden Goodman was saved with under a minute to go, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
