TACOMA, Wash. - - The Puget Sound men's soccer team fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Linfield on Sunday, showing their resilience after falling behind early.
How it Happened
The game got off to a tough start for the Loggers. Just under ten minutes into the game, Linfield broke through when they found the back of the net to put the visitors up 1-0.
Looking to respond, the Loggers began generating momentum in the attacking third. Jackson Smith fired a shot in the 11th minute, followed shortly by a dangerous look from Joel Wollin that forced a saved from the Wildcat goalkeeper. Smith tested the keeper again with another solid shot on goal but the Loggers went into halftime trailing by a goal.
Puget Sound came out ready in the second half and turned that pressure into an equalizer. Just under eight minutes in, Wollin scored to level the game at 1-1 with Smith picking up the assist.
With momentum on their side, the Loggers kept pushing for the winner. Wollin continued to threaten with shots while Smith and Rhys Foote added late chances in the closing minutes but the defense held firm as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
