Box Score 1 RIVERSIDE, Calif. - - Logger softball earned a hard fought split against La Sierra University on Sunday, fueled by a strong game one performance from Lauren Perryman and a high energy start to the afternoon.
How It Happened
Game 1
The Loggers' offense showed patience and precision right out of the gate. After two quick outs, Alyssa Waldo ignited the rally with a line-drive single to left field. Following a fielder's choice and a walk to Elyssa Garcia that loaded the bases, Olivia Boures stepped up with two outs. Boures put the ball in play to the left side, reaching on a fielder's choice that allowed Waldo to slide home safely, giving the Loggers a 1-0 lead.
While the lead provided a cushion, Perryman made sure it stood up. The junior pitcher was in control, navigating through a dangerous Golden Eagles lineup. She received some extra breathing room in the top of the fourth when she helped her own cause by reaching base. Moments later, Rylie Madariaga smoked an RBI double into left field, doubling the Puget Sound lead to 2-0.
La Sierra managed to claw back a run in the bottom half of the fourth following a defensive miscue, but Perryman remained unfazed. She retired the side in the fifth and sixth innings, keeping the Loggers in front.
Puget Sound added a crucial run in the sixth. Jazzy Allen reached on an error and quickly moved into scoring position. Madariaga once again delivered, finding the gap in the right-center for an RBI single to push the score to 3-1.
Perryman silenced the Golden Eagles' bats, tossing a complete-game gem while allowing four hits and racking up five strikeouts. She slammed the door in the bottom of the seventh. Despite two Golden Eagles reaching base via a walk and a hit-by-pitch, she induced a flyout and a game-ending strikeout of Morales to secure the game one win.

Game 2
Puget Sound carried that momentum straight into the second game, jumping out to a 3–0 lead by the second inning. Figueroa worked the count to reach base, eventually coming around to score the game's first run on an aggressive play at the plate. The pressure continued, Kylie Tanimura kept the rally going with her speed, and Garcia followed suit, both crossing the plate after a series of productive outs and pressure forced the Golden Eagle into mistakes.
Figueroa remained a constant threat throughout the afternoon, eventually recording a second run to account for half of the Logger scoring. While the Golden Eagles found their rhythm in the late innings to take the game 14–4, the Loggers four-run effort was defined by the trio of Figueroa (2), Tanimura (1), and Garcia (1), who combined to showcase the team's ability to produce runs against tough pitching.
