How It Happened
After a scoreless opening quarter for the Loggers, the momentum shifted early in the second quarter thanks to Maggie Ott, who jumpstarted the transition. She recorded a caused turnover and a ground ball to start the push forward. The work paid off as Piper Lewis found the back of the net on a free position attempt to get Puget Sound on the board.
The Loggers closed the half with a sharp offensive sequence. In the final 30 seconds of the half, Ott turned playmaker, delivering an assist to Cat Schilli, who beat the keeper, adding another for the Loggers heading into the break.
Puget Sound continued with high energy, scoring in the opening minute of the third quarter. Capitalizing on a man-up opportunity, Pier Pomeroy notched a goal fueled by perseverance.
