TACOMA, Wash. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced its 2025-26 Academic Award Honorees, with several members of Puget Sound's men's basketball team making the prestigious list. 

After finishing second in the Northwest Conference this past season, the men's basketball team hit the books and excelled in the classroom. The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award is given to teams that complete the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Loggers joined six other NWC schools on the list, ending the season on a high note. 

The NABC also recognizes individual academic honors through the NABC Honors Court, where juniors, seniors, and graduate students who finish the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher receive the honor. An impressive seven Logger athletes were named to the Honors Court: 

Cameron Wood - Mathematics
Dezman Baker - Business Administration 
Hugo Rutherfurd - Communication Studies
Ian Cook - Communication Studies
Jaden Turner - Business Leadership
Jonathan Guy - Psychology
Zane Miller - Business Leadership, Economics

The Loggers look to continue their success on the court and in the classroom in 2026-27, as they have their eyes set on first place in the Northwest Conference.
