TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers dominated Lewis Clark Valley on senior day for their first win of the season, taking down the other Loggers 47-13 in a great display of football. 

Today they celebrated 11 seniors for their contributions to the Logger Football Program. We thank all of them for their hard work and dedication to the Puget Sound Football Team. 

How it Happened
After receiving the ball to start the first half, the offense got the Log rolling early. Brady Beck, the Loggers starting quarterback, drove the bal down the field with a six-play, 65-yard drive for the score. On a fourth-and-ten, he found senior Ethan Roeder down the left side for a 40-yard touchdown reception. 

A quick three-and-out followed, as the defense picked up right where they left off. Connor Boehl found his way into the backfield for a pair of tackles, giving the ball straight back to the offense. The Loggers drove their way down the field again, as Matt Reed powered his way on the ground through Lewis Clark Valley's defense. After getting down to the two-yard line, it was time for starting senior left tackle, Daniel Wani to shine. Normally leading the block, Wani instead lined up in the backfield, taking a two-yard rush in for the score. 

The Loggers continued to roll in the second quarter, as Izacc Ramirez intercepted LCV deep into their own territory. Zain Bhakta came into the game at quarterback, only needing one pass deep right to Demari Ross to set up the score. Justin Para-McGee got his first sack of his young career on the ensuing drive, forcing a three-and-out and an LCV punt. A great return by Thomas Krupp set the Loggers up in great field position, finishing it off himself to put the Loggers up 27-0. He took the next return to the house as well, putting the Loggers up 34-0 with 1:44 left in the first half.

The Loggers gave up their first score of the game on a pick-six, but after a missed LCV onside kick, the Loggers were set up in great field position to end the half. A Daniel Newsome rushing touchdown put the Loggers back up, as they headed into the half up 40-7. 

The second half saw almost every Logger on the team play, giving the squad a chance at increasing their depth. The quarter started with a lengthy drive for Lewis Clark Valley, pushing their way down the field bit by bit. Despite running the ball in for the score, the Loggers were able to block the PAT, showing off their impressive special-teams unit. 

The team responded right away, only needing three plays to get the ball in the end zone. Newsome and Krupp both had solid gains, but not before Gavin Parham took a 39-yard rush for the score. This made it 47-13, which held to the end of the game. 

In the fourth quarter, the Loggers put together a productive drive with Jaden Hedges at quarterback. He took the team down to the LCV 14-yard line, setting up the kicking unit. Despite a missed field goal, the Loggers still had a good showing as they marched down the field. One more defensive stop sealed the game, as the Loggers took this one, 47-13.W

What Happens Next
The Loggers travel down to Southern California to take on California Lutheran next Saturday, September 19th. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
