Loggers Fight Back for 3-3 Draw

TACOMA, Wash. - - Logger men's soccer erased a deficit Saturday, drawing George Fox 3-3 at Baker Stadium.
 

How it Happened

George Fox broke into the net early and scored in the sixth minute, but Jackson Smith had an answer just three minutes later, assisted by Rhys Foote, to tie it 1-1.

The Bruins retook the lead to go up 3-1 within minutes of each other. But Owen Pschigoda was able to cut the deficit just before the break off a rebound off the crossbar, scoring in the 43rd minute to make it 3-2 at the half.

Smith completed his brace in the 60th minute with a goal to the upper left, finishing the comeback and knotting the score at 3-3.

"It was a frustrating start, but I though we played well -- George Fox scored some goals against the run of play, said Head Coach Steve Mohn. "Our guys kept battling the whole game and were able to get ourselves a results. I was proud of our reaction and how we fought back."

Top Performers

Smith led both teams with eight shots and two goals. Foote finished with an assist and six shots. Puget Sound was able to out-shot George Fox 21-10 for the match, with 11 shots in the first half alone.

What Happens Next

The Loggers will have a quick turnaround as they continue conference play against Pacific on Sunday, September 20 at 12 p.m. at Baker Stadium.
