In 2022, Reece Olney guided the Puget Sound men's soccer program to its 12 consecutive winning fall season, and three Loggers earned All-Northwest Conference honors. One of those honorees was sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Saunders, who became the first Logger since 1996 to eclipse 100 saves in a season.

The 2021 season culminated in four All-NWC honors, including the third-career All-NWC honor for Cale Spence. The Loggers posted their 11th consecutive winning (fall) season in 2021.

In 2018, Luke Murdock was named the NWC Offensive Player of the Year. Murdock also received a United Soccer Coaches All-West Region nod. Off the pitch, the Loggers excelled as Sam Gonzalez was named an Academic All-American by CoSIDA.

Under Olney’s leadership, the Loggers won NWC titles in 1999, 2002, 2006, and 2013. In 1999, the Loggers went 20-2-0 and reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament while finishing the season ranked sixth in the nation. The Loggers set an NCAA Division III record for biggest single season improvement in 1999, going from 7-12-1 in 1998 to 20-2 in 1999.

In 2010, Olney won his 200th game as a head coach with all wins coming at Puget Sound. His career record of 285-136-46 ranks among the top-50 active Division III coaches for winning percentage. He has also led the Loggers to wins in over 70 percent of their Northwest Conference matches.

Olney is a three-time NWC Coach of the Year and has coached 11 All-Americans, 32 All-Region athletes, 56 First Team All-NWC selections and 135 total All-NWC honorees. In addition to success on the field, Olney places a high value on success in the classroom. In 2011, the men’s soccer team turned in a 3.09 team GPA. He has coached six Academic All-Americans and 17 All-Region Scholars.

Olney resides in Enumclaw, Wash. with his wife and children.
