Puget Sound women's soccer head coach Kim Calkins was named the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year following the 2021 season. Puget Sound led the nation in several statistical categories (GAA, shutouts, save percentage), and the Loggers were ranked nationally as a team for several weeks. Eght Loggers earned All-NWC in 2021. Kylee Roath was named the NWC Offensive Player of the Year, and Chaylea Tome earned Academic All-American. 

Calkins was named the interim head coach for Puget Sound women's soccer in 2019, and the interim tag was lifted after she led the Loggers to 13 wins in her first season. 

In just her third year with the Maroon & White, Calkins was named the 2021 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year. She led the Loggers to 18 consecutive unbeaten games, and Puget Sound achieved a No. 17 national rank from United Soccer Coaches (USC). The Loggers placed eight All-Northwest Conference players in 2021, including NWC Offensive Player of the Year Kylee Roath. 

By the end of the 2021 season, Chaylea Tome led all of NCAA D-III in shutouts. Tome was also named an Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). 

Before coming to Puget Sound, Calkins spent the previous two years as the Technical Director for the Reign Academy in Tacoma. Prior to her time with the Reign, Calkins was the Sounders Women's head coach for two years. She led the Sounders to first-place finishes in 2016 and 2017. Calkins played collegiately at the University of Portland. She was selected to the All-West Coast Conference First Team in 1998, and she was a member of three Pilots teams that reached the College Cup final four of the NCAA Division-I Championships. She went on to play professionally.  Calkins earned a master's degree at Gonzaga where she also served as an assistant coach.
