McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Taylor Hyde (Sandy, Utah/Waterford) scored
just 35 seconds into the game as the Puget Sound Loggers collected
a 2-1 win over the host Linfield Wildcats in a Northwest
Conference men's soccer match on Sunday afternoon in McMinnville,
Ore.
Hyde gave the Loggers the early lead on the first play of the
game as Cole Peterson (Great Falls, Mont.) connected with Hyde, who
booted the ball past Linfield keeper Jon Thompson for the 1-0 UPS
lead. The 'Cats answered back just a few minutes later when
Michel Camacho scored unassisted in the fifth minute.
In the 36th minute, Alex Lehecka (Burlington,
Wash./Burlington-Edison) connected with Kyle Benson (Lynnwood,
Wash./Kamiak) for the game-winner after Benson scored his fourth
goal of the season.
Greg Saetrum (Boise, Idaho/Timberline) was solid in net for the
Loggers, making nine saves and allowing just the one score.
The Logger defense also chipped in, making three team saves on the
game.
The Loggers will conclude the 2008 season on Saturday afternoon
when they play host to Willamette.
