Newberg, Ore. – Chris McDonald made four saves and the Univerdity of Puget Sound men's soccer team defeated Gorge Fox 2-0 on Saturday. The Loggers (9-4-5, 6-3-3) were outshot 17-14 but clung to a 2-0 lead for the win.
Despite being outshot 17-14, the Loggers were the only team to find the back of the net. An own goal put the Loggers up 1-0 and Andrew White extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 79th minute. Landon Gauthier earned the assist after his cross found White in front of the goal and White tapped it in from five yards out.
Marcus Rudd and Kyle Benson each took three shots for the Loggers but could not sneak one past Elliott Davis, who also made four save for the Bruins.
The Loggers head to Pacific tomorrow for a match at 2:30 p.m.
