SHERWOOD, Texas – Win, lose, or draw. The Loggers
men's soccer team have experienced all three and in that
order to open the 2010 season. The Loggers battled to a 1-1 draw on
Sunday night against Austin College.
After the teams traded blows in a scoreless first half, the
Loggers broke the deadlock when Carson Swope struck from 40 yards
out in the 65th minute. With just under six minutes left, the
Roos found the equalizer when Sam Temple found the back of the
net.
Both team continued to battle through both overtime periods, but
both goalkeepers kept the game knotted at 1-1 for the tie.
Chris McDonald made six saves on the game, including two big
saves in the second overtime.
The Loggers finish their Texas road trip when they face McMurry
tomorrow in Dallas, Texas.
