Miller's 11 catches mark the fourth time this season he has finished with double-digit receptions, and his 130 yards against PLU marks his first 100-yard game of the year.

The Loggers (3-4, 2-3 NWC) and Lutes (5-2, 3-2 NWC) remained close through the first 15 minutes as PLU held a narrow 7-3 lead. Marc Gallant's two-yard touchdown with 9:05 on the clock in the second quarter gave the Lutes a 14-3 lead, but Puget Sound struck back when Foley connected with Miller for a 53-yard touchdown strike up the middle of the field with one minute left in the half. The Loggers added a two-point conversion to pull to within a field goal, 14-11.

However, PLU marched 71 yards on seven plays in 42 seconds as a 24-yard touchdown run by Niko Madison gave the Lutes a 21-11 advantage heading into halftime.

Dalton Ritchey's 19-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Warner accounted for the only points in the third quarter, as the Loggers found themselves trailing, 28-11, entering the fourth quarter. The Ritchey-Warner duo hooked up again early in the fourth, this time on a 31-yard touchdown that increased PLU's lead to 35-11.

Despite the daunting deficit, the Loggers demonstrated a mental toughness that allowed them to outscore the Lutes in the fourth quarter, 16-14.

The Lutes' 24-point lead didn't last long, as the Loggers went 64 yards on eight plays, and Foley's two-yard touchdown pass to Miller capped off a 1:54 drive. Puget Sound trailed, 35-17, after a failed two-point conversion with 11:57 on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Sawyer Petre's second field goal of the afternoon cut the deficit to 35-20 midway through the fourth, but Warner caught his third touchdown pass of the game to extend the Lutes' lead to 42-20

Foley connected with Steve Branham for a 10-yard touchdown completion with 1:08 left in the game.

Defensively, Jacob Wuesthoff led the Loggers with 11 tackles and Connor Savage added 10. Puget Sound committed just one penalty for five yards all game.

The Loggers host Linfield on Saturday, Nov. 8, for Puget Sound's final home game of 2014. The Loggers will honor their senior class prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff.
