The Loggers (1-2-1) began the game on the wrong foot after the Lions took a 2-0 lead within the first 14 minutes of the game. In the 25th minute of the match the Loggers began their comeback with Field's second goal of the season. Field went on to score two more goals for the hat-trick. Senior Sean Ryan assisted on two of Field's goals while freshman Cameron Lorek assisted the other. Throughout the game, senior Sam Naatz displayed many great defensive plays to keep the Loggers in the game. Goalkeeper Nathan King recorded three saves, all in the second half.

Gustavus Adolphus recorded its first goal in the fourth minute and netted another in the 14th minute. Puget Sound refocused, gained some confidence and answered in the 25th minute and the 40th minute to tie the game. The Loggers maintained momentum to start the second half and tallied another goal in the 46th minute. Puget Sound's defense then held strong the rest of the game and denied Gustavus Adolphus a goal despite its seven shots in the second half.

The Lions outshot the Loggers (13-9) and had more corner kicks (9-2). Each team picked up one yellow card near the end of the match.

Puget Sound looks to continue its winning streak when it plays at home Friday, Sept. 12, against Hamline at 4 p.m.
