Box Score

McMINNVILLE, Oregon – One week after securing a winning season, the Puget Sound football team had its three-game win streak snapped by No. 2 Linfield on Saturday, 72-3.

The Loggers (5-3, 4-2 NWC) entered Saturday's contest tied for second place in the Northwest Conference following consecutive wins over George Fox, Lewis & Clark, and Pacific Lutheran. Linfield (8-0, 6-0 NWC) handed Puget Sound its first loss in Oregon since the 2013 season. The Loggers had won four-straight games in The Beaver State.

Mitchell Habryle connected on a 32-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter for the Loggers' only points. Puget Sound wide receivers Brennan Schon and Peter Bell finished with six receptions apiece.

Matt Gilbert led the Logger defense with eight tackles, while Jacob Wuesthoff finished with seven tackles and broke up two passes.

Puget Sound looks to end the season on a strong note when it hosts Pacific on Saturday, Nov. 14. Kickoff at Baker Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
