Men's soccer falls to Whitworth

SPOKANE, Washington – The University of Puget Sound men's soccer team lost to Whitworth 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates (7-0, 3-0 NWC) took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute on a Sam Engle goal. The home team extended their lead over the Loggers (4-4, 2-1 NWC) in the 27th minute when Jonah Snyder scored.

Puget Sound was outshot 14-1, while the Pirates edged the Loggers in corner kicks (4-3). Josh Sonico took the Loggers lone shot. Goalkeeper Daniel Kirsch made four saves.

Puget Sound will next travel to Whitman on Sunday, September 27.
